🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Frustration Over Sizing Updates Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services. They have suggested members to review their products and manually change the size if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Updates Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she stated. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
